Resolution to the Greene County Board of Supervisors
Recently, the appropriateness of the decision by the Greene County Board of Supervisors to make a loan to the Greene County Administrator has been called into question by some concerned citizens. As a result, at our regular July meeting on 7/20/15, the Greene County Republican Committee passed a resolution, which has now been given to all members of the Greene County Board of Supervisors. This resolution calls on the Board to take immediate steps to resolve this issue, which is currently leading to negative publicity for Greene County and causing our citizens to lose confidence in their local government.
Greene Seeing Red!! County "Leaders" In Their Own Words
In an effort to inform Greene County residents of the facts surrounding the recent loan made to the Greene County Administrator by our Board of Supervisors, we have prepared a synopsis of the relevant events over the past couple of years. It should be further noted that the citizens who first became aware of these facts did their civic duty by attending multiple BoS meetings and speaking out against what they saw as a breach of the public's trust by their local elected representatives. Instead of acknowledging the citizens' concerns and taking corrective action, four of the five BoS members voted at their July 28th meeting to limit further public comment at future BoS meetings. Thus, we feel it is now even MORE important that we help inform our fellow citizens, whose First Amendment free-speech rights have been inappropriately abridged by the very representatives a majority of Greene County voters elected!
